Mare de Déu del Carme, Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Sea and tradition united in a single event. As is well known, the Virgin of Carmen is the patron saint of sailors, and that is why every July 16 they set out to sea in their fishing and leisure boats to parade in a procession in honor of the Virgin.
PROGRAM
July 16th
11 am - Parish of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla
Mass in honor of the Virgin of Carmen
Fishermen's Guild of Sitges (Moll de Ponent s/n, Port of Sitges)
Display of the statue of Virgin of Carmen at the Fishermen's Guild headquarters until 6 pm, followed by its transfer to a fishing boat.
19 h - Port de Sitges
Seafarers' procession, blessing of the boats, and floral offering to the Virgin of Carmen
20 h - Port de Sitges
Performance by Alma de Boquerón and Rom Pujol's traditional flaming rum (rom cremat).
And afterwards... a tasting of seafood fideuà and a glass of Blanc Subur, a young 100% Malvasia de Sitges white wine from Celler de l'Hospital, in front of the Port Captaincy Tower.

7:30 – 9 pm - Centre for the Interpretation of Malvasia de Sitges (Plaça Joan Duran i Ferret, s/n)
"Paths of Malvasia and the Sea in Aiguadolç"
Guided food and wine pairing tour:
A guided walk from Aiguadolç Beach to the Fishermen's Guild, including a welcome glass of 1324 (2025 – ancestral sparkling wine), pairings with Malvasia de Mar (2022 – underwater-aged wine) and Sweet Malvasia (2015 – mistela), as well as two varieties of locally produced pickled fish (escabetx) prepared with aromatic herbs from the Garraf.
Activity organised by the Centre for the Interpretation of Malvasia de Sitges and the Fishermen's Guild, in collaboration with Port de Sitges.
